Maste Eshgh

Maste Eshgh (فیلم “مست عشق”) is a sweeping historical romance directed by Hassan Fathi that brings to life the transformative relationship between the 13th-century Persian mystic poet Jalal ad-Din Rumi and the wandering dervish Shams of Tabriz. Set in the cities of Konya and Tabriz during a period of political tension and spiritual unrest, the film portrays Rumi as a respected scholar whose life is irrevocably changed by his encounter with the enigmatic Shams.
