As a Millwright Apprentice, you will gain practical experience working alongside seasoned professionals, learning essential skills and techniques, and advancing your knowledge of the machinery and equipment that drive Feltex’s operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Maintenance: Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and machinery, ensuring they are operating efficiently.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify mechanical issues and assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment failures to minimize downtime.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Participate in scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and replacing worn-out parts.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Learn to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to assist in machinery installation and repair tasks.
  • Welding and Fabrication: Assist with welding and fabrication tasks for custom machinery components and repairs as necessary.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all tasks are performed in compliance with Feltex’s safety protocols and industry standards, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Tool and Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in mechanical tasks, including power tools, welding equipment, and lifting devices.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections as per company requirements.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Grade 12 with Maths and Science

N3 with Electrical/Mechanical trade theory, Mathematics and Engineering Science.
