Position: Millwright

Primary Role
Troubleshooting / faultfinding and repair / maintain electrical and mechanical equipment efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Meet with Supervisors on a daily basis to discuss previous day’s maintenance and determine maintenance schedule (ad hoc and routine) and tool box talks for the day.
• Complete job cards and conduct daily checks of assistants job cards
• Conduct regular audits on plants and equipment
• Carry out routine maintenance on all portable and fixed electrical equipment by performing electrical tests and recordings and reporting the information on the job cards
• To inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Perform the installation of new electrical equipment by:
• Erecting of cable trays, cables and wire ways etc. when necessary;
• Labelling of all electrical equipment;
• Maintaining drawings and updating them.
• A minimum requirement to perform any mechanical maintenance, fabrication, and quick response to breakdowns.
• Adhere to safety requirement and able to read and analyse complex design drawings and projects.
• Carry out requirements on plant, housekeeping and equipment cleaning.
• Ensure that all equipment is maintained and operates properly and safely.
• Connecting new equipment
• Commissioning and testing new equipment.
• Sound knowledge on Overhead Cranes

The successful candidate will have to meet the following minimum requirements:
-Education
• Qualified Millwright – Trade Test -Red Seal
• Electrical and or Mechanical N4

-Experience
• 5 years post Trade related experience
Five years of relevant experience in maintaining large electrical and mechanical installations, with a strong electrical background and accurate troubleshooting skills, is essential. Experience with SCADA and PLC control systems, as well as field control instrumentation will be an add advantage
• Must be able to perform Mechanical and Electrical work Independently

• Exposure to noise, vibration, dust, grease, and smoke within allowable exposure limits.
• Exposure to all types of weather and temperature conditions.
Working in confined spaces.
• Working at heights.
