Job Overview:
As a Sewing and Finishing Learner, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the manufacturing of high-quality garments. You will undergo training that includes learning the essential techniques of sewing, stitching, and finishing garments, alongside mastering the use of industrial sewing machines and tools. The program is designed to provide learners with the technical skills, practical knowledge, and experience necessary for a successful career in the textile industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sewing and Stitching: Learn and practice sewing techniques on various types of fabrics and materials to produce high-quality garments. This includes mastering different stitching methods, such as straight, zigzag, and overlock stitches.
- Garment Construction: Assist in constructing garments according to design specifications, patterns, and size requirements.
- Quality Control: Conduct inspections on finished products to ensure they meet quality standards. Identify and correct defects in garments during the production process.
- Finishing and Detailing: Learn how to apply finishing techniques such as pressing, trimming, hemming, and adding labels to garments.
- Machine Operation: Gain proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines and other related equipment, ensuring safe and efficient usage.
- Production Support: Support production processes by assisting senior staff in the setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of machines and tools.
- Learning and Development: Attend theoretical classes, workshops, and training sessions to enhance understanding of garment manufacturing and textile processes
The duration will be 12 months, and you will be paid weekly.
REQUIREMENTS
• Between the ages 18-32 years
• Grade 9, 10, 11, 12 Pass
• Clear Criminal record
• South African Citizen
• Available to start, 10 February 2025
