Air Products South Africa, the leading industrial gas producer and distributor in the Southern African market, is currently looking for two General Duty Assistants to join the Vanderbijlpark operation. Role Overview

The General Duty Assistants will be part and parcel of efficiency in operations at the Vanderbijlpark plant. Among their main responsibilities will be:

To perform general housekeeping to provide a clean, safe, and healthy working environment.​

Assisting with ad hoc jobs when required by the operational staff.​

Ensuring strict adherence to Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality (SHERQ) requirements.

Overview & Key Responsibilities

As a General Duty Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our plant. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Housekeeping: Ensuring the plant is clean and well-maintained.
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintaining equipment to meet established quality standards.
• Forklift Operation: Ensuring the safe operation of forklifts.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

• Minimum of Grade 12/N3 Certificate.
• At least 2 years of experience in a heavy industry setting.
• Experience in a mechanical workshop environment.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical work activities.
• Familiarity with mechanical tools, equipment, and materials, including formal training in the safe use of hand tools.
• Understanding of safety procedures and practices.
• Willingness to work overtime and ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
