Job Duties
As a General Worker in this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks to help ensure the safety and security of the redline area and surrounding farm infrastructure. Your key duties will include:
- Routine Manual Farming Activities: Assist with general farm operations.
- Control Movement of Animals: Monitor and restrict the movement of cloven-hoofed animals in the redline area.
- Vehicle and Product Inspections: Stop, register, and search vehicles from the redline area, checking for illegal products such as meat, dairy, grass, hides, skins, and more.
- Fence Patrols and Maintenance: Conduct regular fence checks, repair breakages, and clear bushes along the redline fence.
- Control and Monitoring of Quarantined Animals: Check permits for quarantined animals and liaise with Animal Health Technicians for inspections.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate registers for permits, quarantined animals, vehicle movement, and confiscated products.
This role is vital to ensuring the smooth and secure functioning of the agriculture and rural development efforts in Limpopo.
