STA Coal Mining is a leading company in the extraction and processing of coal, committed to high safety standards, environmental responsibility, and delivering quality products to the energy sector. We are currently seeking dedicated, skilled, and safety-conscious individuals to join our team as miners. As a STA Coal Mining Miner, you will be responsible for safely operating mining equipment and machinery while ensuring the efficient extraction of coal from underground or open-pit mines.

Key Responsibilities

• Mining Operations: Operate a variety of mining equipment such as drills, shovels, excavators, and trucks to extract coal from the ground. Ensure that all equipment is operated in compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. This includes wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE), participating in safety drills, and reporting hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
• Excavation & Loading: Assist with the loading of extracted coal into trucks or conveyors for transport to the processing area. Follow specific instructions for excavation and coal handling to prevent waste and ensure the highest possible yield.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on equipment, and notify supervisors of any major malfunctions or issues requiring external intervention.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including supervisors, engineers, and other miners, to coordinate activities, solve problems, and meet production goals.
• Quality Control: Monitor coal quality to ensure consistency with company standards and assist in sorting or processing coal when necessary.
• Record-Keeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production, equipment usage, and safety incidents. Report all activities and issues to supervisors in a timely manner.

𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗺 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀:

• Grade 12 • Valid Driver’s license

• English proficient

• No criminal record

• Must obtain a medical fitness certificate from company clinic / Doctor

• First aid and emergency certificate response will be advantageous

• Gas / flameproof certificate

• Computer skills in MS Office, (Excel, Word, outlook, etc) will be advantageous

• Solid knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act

• Valid Blasting Certificate for underground fiery mine

𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲:

• 5 years’ experience in Underground trackless Coal mining environment (board and pillar)

• CM and Drill and Blast

𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀:

• Good communications and interpersonal skills

• Trackless experience in underground hard rock mining

• Track record working and leading with employees / teamwork skills

• Knowledge of mine practices • Ability to interpret mining plans / schedules

• Skills working with equipment like Roofbolter, LHD, Shuttle cars, Continuous Miners, Conveyor belts and associated machinery, etc

• Online mining (constructing bisect)

• Ability to apply just culture

• Uphold and ensure compliance to good attendance to work
