Overview
Harmony Gold Mining is excited to invite applications for the 2025 Engineering Artisan Learnership Programme. This programme is designed to provide talented and motivated individuals with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and technical skills in the engineering field, offering a pathway to a successful career in the mining industry.
As part of our commitment to building a skilled and capable workforce, Harmony Gold Mining offers this learnership to those who have a passion for engineering and aspire to become qualified artisans in disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Training & Development: Participate in a comprehensive, structured learnership programme that includes both theoretical and practical training in the engineering field. Learn key skills in electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation work related to mining operations.
- Hands-On Experience: Gain practical experience by working alongside experienced artisans and technicians in various engineering departments. You will be involved in maintenance, repairs, installations, and troubleshooting of equipment and machinery.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety standards, protocols, and regulations in the mining environment. Actively participate in safety training and contribute to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
- Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and servicing of mining equipment, ensuring that all machinery operates at optimal efficiency. Perform routine inspections and report any faults or issues to senior artisans.
- Problem-Solving: Participate in diagnostic and troubleshooting activities to identify and resolve equipment breakdowns or technical issues. Collaborate with senior engineers and artisans to apply effective solutions.
- Learning & Development: Attend formal training sessions, both on-site and through external learning providers. Take ownership of your learning and development, demonstrating commitment to becoming a skilled artisan.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science/ N3 Qualification( Four subjects with related Trades Theory) /NCV ( Vocational) L4 with Mathematics and related trade theory
- Undergo required Psychometric Assessments
