We are seeking two experienced and skilled DRM (Dynamic Resource Management) Plant Operators to join our team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our plant equipment, ensuring that all production processes run smoothly and meet safety and environmental standards. You will work alongside a dedicated team to maintain plant operations while consistently striving for optimal productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Plant Operations: Operate and monitor plant machinery, including boilers, turbines, pumps, and generators, to ensure efficient production and operation. Adjust settings and parameters as necessary to meet production goals and maintain quality standards.
- System Monitoring: Continuously monitor system parameters, such as pressure, temperature, flow, and voltage, using control systems and diagnostic tools. Identify any irregularities and take prompt action to correct faults.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Perform basic troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of plant equipment, including conducting routine checks and inspections. Collaborate with maintenance teams for more complex repairs and ensure that all downtime is minimized.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all company safety protocols and procedures, ensuring that all equipment is operated in a safe manner. Participate in safety drills and report any hazards or safety concerns to management.
- Data Recording & Reporting: Maintain accurate logs and records of operations, maintenance activities, and incident reports. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on plant performance, including any operational issues or improvements.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other operators, technicians, and engineers to maintain a seamless operation. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Environmental Standards: Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations related to emissions, waste management, and water treatment. Take appropriate actions to minimize environmental impact.
Job Description
- Operate the Sulphonation plant in accordance to the operating Work Instructions
- Produce products within the laid down specifications, as given by the operating Work Instructions and Production Packages
- Ensure that all operating procedures are carried out correctly according to the operating Work Instructions and Production Packages
- Sample product and intermediate according to the given procedure at the given time interval or more frequently if necessary
- Take the necessary corrective actions if the tests show an out of specification situation, as laid down in the operating Work Instructions
- Monitor and record plant operating conditions according to the given procedures at the given time interval or more frequently if necessary
- Take corrective action if plant operating conditions are outside the limits specified in the plant Work Instructions
- Write up records timeously according to the plant Work Instructions
- Load and off- load road tankers according the loading and off-loading of tankers work instructions
- Operate the Sulphonation plant in accordance to the operating Work Instructions
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric / Grade 12
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in chemical plant operations
- Experience in Industrial Manufacturing Processes
- Knowledge of plant operating control systems (DCS/SCADA)
- Computer literate
