What Will You Be Doing?

As a Life Cover Claims Assessor, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting Life Cover Claims Process
    You’ll work alongside various stakeholders to enhance the claims assessment process, ensuring that it’s smooth and efficient. You’ll even engage with industry experts like reinsurers to fine-tune the process further.
  • Assessing Life Cover Claims
    Your main task will be to verify and assess life cover claims, ensuring all necessary documents are accurate, complete, and legally binding. You will ensure that claims are processed accurately, holistically, and within agreed turnaround times.
  • Handling Queries and Complaints
    At Capitec, customer service is key. You will resolve queries and complaints related to claims, working with the Complaints Management team to handle disputes and appeals in accordance with Capitec’s standards and timelines.
  • Building Relationships
    You’ll need to build trusting relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders, helping to foster collaboration to meet Capitec Life objectives.

Key Qualifications and Skills

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: A Grade 12 National Certificate or Vocational qualification.
  • Experience: While prior experience in assessing life insurance claims is a bonus, it’s not mandatory. If you have experience in a customer service or administrative role, your skills can transfer well to this position.

Ideal Requirements:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Healthcare or Science is a plus.
  • An understanding of the life insurance industry and claims handling processes will be helpful but is not essential.
