Job Overview

As a Coach Driver at Intercape, you will play an essential role in delivering safe, comfortable, and efficient transportation for passengers across various routes. Your responsibilities will include safely operating long-distance coach services, ensuring passengers are comfortable and attended to, and adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Safe Driving: Operate coaches along specified routes, ensuring the safety and well-being of all passengers.
• Passenger Assistance: Provide a high level of customer service by assisting passengers with boarding, luggage handling, and ensuring a comfortable travel experience.
• Route Management: Follow assigned schedules and routes, ensuring timely arrivals and departures while minimizing delays.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Perform basic inspections of the vehicle before and after each trip, reporting any mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
• Compliance: Adhere to all road safety regulations and company procedures, maintaining a clean driving record and punctual attendance.
• Communication: Stay in constant communication with the dispatch team for updates or changes in schedules, routes, and operational matters.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s license with a PDP (Professional Driving Permit).
• Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience, particularly in operating buses or large vehicles.
• Excellent driving skills with a good understanding of road safety and defensive driving techniques.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• A clean driving record and no criminal history.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience driving coaches for long-distance services.
• Knowledge of the areas and routes served by Intercape.
• First aid certification is advantageous.
