About the Role:

As a General Worker at Oceangrown Aquaculture, you will be a key player in our day-to-day operations. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the aquaculture industry, working alongside experienced professionals to support the cultivation of marine life in a safe, efficient, and sustainable manner.

You will contribute to various aspects of aquaculture operations, including the maintenance of facilities, feeding and monitoring aquatic life, and ensuring that all safety and environmental regulations are adhered to. The ideal candidate is reliable, adaptable, and comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments, in all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facility Maintenance: Assist in the upkeep and maintenance of aquaculture equipment, tanks, and marine life habitats, ensuring the integrity and safety of the environment.
  • Aquatic Life Care: Feed and monitor fish or other marine organisms to ensure they remain healthy and are growing according to program specifications.
  • Operational Support: Assist with the movement and harvesting of aquatic life, and support activities such as tagging, sorting, and measuring marine organisms.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and industry standards.
  • Data Collection: Help with the collection of data related to water quality, environmental conditions, and the health of the marine life.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Have a Pre-Sea
• Senior Certificate (Grade 12) would be advantageous.
• Fire Fighting and First Aid would be advantageous.
• SAMSA Medical will be advantageous.
