Role Overview

The Plumbing Skills Programme aims to equip learners with the fundamental plumbing skills necessary for entry-level or advanced positions in the plumbing field. These programmes are structured to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. They cover a wide range of skills from basic pipe fitting to advanced water systems installation and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities & Learning Areas

  1. Pipe Installation & Maintenance
    • Understanding and working with different types of pipes (PVC, copper, steel, etc.)
    • Installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes used in plumbing systems
    • Learning to join pipes using welding, soldering, and threading techniques
  2. Water Supply Systems
    • Designing and installing domestic and commercial water supply systems
    • Ensuring proper pipework for water distribution and pressure regulation
    • Understanding water flow, drainage, and waste disposal systems
  3. Drainage Systems
    • Learning the installation of effective drainage solutions
    • Understanding the significance of sewage and wastewater systems
    • Performing troubleshooting and repair on faulty drainage systems
  4. Plumbing Codes & Safety Regulations
    • Familiarizing with local plumbing codes and regulations
    • Complying with industry-standard safety protocols
    • Applying environmental sustainability practices in plumbing systems

REQUIREMENTS
1. The candidates must have a minimum requirement of Grade 10 to 12
2. The candidates must not have a criminal record
3. The candidates must be residing in Bushbuckridge Local Municipality
