Afrimat Mining Services, based at D&B Coza has a vacancy for a: Cleaner / General Worker
Overview:
The Mining Cleaner/General Worker plays a critical role in maintaining cleanliness and ensuring the safe, efficient operation of a mining site. This position involves performing various manual tasks related to general site cleanliness, supporting operational teams, and ensuring a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Clean and maintain equipment, machinery, and workspaces.
- Remove debris, dirt, dust, and waste materials from the mining site.
- Ensure that all areas, including storage areas and walkways, are free from obstructions and hazards.
- Maintain proper disposal of waste materials in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Support Operations:
- Assist with loading and unloading materials, tools, and supplies.
- Help in transporting equipment to and from various parts of the mining site.
- Support mining operations by handling materials and assisting team members when required.
- Ensure the availability of cleaning supplies and materials for regular upkeep of work areas.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all site-specific safety procedures, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Report any safety hazards, unsafe conditions, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
- Assist in emergency response situations as required.
- Ensure that all tasks are carried out according to company policies and industry regulations.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other site personnel to ensure smooth operation of daily tasks.
- Take direction from supervisors and follow instructions efficiently.
- Participate in daily briefings and safety meetings to stay informed about site activities and safety protocols.
- Other Duties:
- Perform any other related tasks or duties as required by the supervisor or manager.
Minimum Qualification / Experience:
• Grade 12 coetificate
• Minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience as a General Worker Will be an Advantege
• Previous experience of opetating heavy machinety in advantageous
• Able to work under pressure
Duties and responsibilities (not limited to)
• Gleaning up worksite:
• Able to work with hand tools.
• Follow instructions and work independently
• Perform any other manual work required on site.
