Job Description: Electrical Engineering (Light Current)
Work Integrated Learning Programme 2025

Introduction
The Electrical Engineering (Light Current) role within the Work Integrated Learning Programme 2025 offers an exciting opportunity for aspiring engineers to develop practical skills and gain hands-on experience in the field of electrical systems, specifically focusing on light current technologies. This program is designed for individuals seeking to build their expertise in designing, maintaining, and optimizing electrical systems used in modern communication, security, and automation applications.

Job Overview
As an Electrical Engineering (Light Current) intern, you will be engaged in various projects that involve designing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems for light current applications, such as telecommunication systems, data transmission networks, lighting control systems, and building management systems. You will work alongside experienced engineers, gaining valuable experience and contributing to projects that require innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Design & Analysis: Assist in the design and implementation of electrical circuits and systems for light current applications such as data and telecommunication networks, alarm systems, and low voltage lighting systems.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting: Support in the testing, calibration, and maintenance of electrical components and systems. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to light current technologies.
  • Project Support: Collaborate with senior engineers and other team members to contribute to the planning, execution, and monitoring of electrical engineering projects.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of design specifications, testing results, and other technical documentation to ensure project compliance and regulatory standards.
  • System Optimization: Assist in optimizing electrical systems for efficiency and reliability, ensuring the effective integration of new technologies into existing infrastructures.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all electrical systems adhere to national and international electrical safety standards, regulations, and codes

The College hereby has opportunities for a (Work Integrated Learning) Programme in Partnership with MICT SETA.

Successful students will be provided with a Stipend for the duration of the training programme 12 months.

Minimum Criteria and Targeted Programmes:
Electrical Engineering (N4 – N6) l

Students with a confirmation letter from a host employer will be prioritized.
Duties related to Instrumentation or Light Current in Electrical.

• Applicants must be South African
• Be unemployed and not currently in any Education or Training Programme
• Must be below 35 years of Age
