Key Responsibilities:
- Diesel Engine Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform diagnostic tests on diesel engines to identify issues and determine the necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Conduct repairs and replacements of engine parts, such as injectors, pumps, turbos, and radiators.
- Inspect and repair transmission systems, fuel systems, exhaust systems, and electrical components in diesel vehicles and machinery.
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Conduct regular maintenance tasks, including oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, and tire inspections, to ensure vehicles and equipment are in optimal working condition.
- Perform routine system diagnostics and make adjustments to keep vehicles running efficiently.
- Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose mechanical issues using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment, pinpointing problems with engines, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and other vehicle components.
- Work with the maintenance team to develop effective solutions and carry out repairs promptly.
- Parts and Equipment Management:
- Maintain an inventory of necessary parts and tools for repairs and maintenance.
- Order and replace damaged or worn-out parts to ensure vehicle and equipment reliability.
- Keep track of maintenance records and service history for each piece of equipment.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow safety protocols and procedures while working with diesel engines, machinery, and hazardous materials.
- Ensure that all work performed meets relevant safety standards, industry regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety guidelines.
- Collaboration and Reporting:
- Work closely with the fleet management team and other mechanics to coordinate maintenance schedules and resolve mechanical issues.
- Provide feedback to supervisors on vehicle or equipment conditions and report any issues that may require further attention.
