Requirements
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education:
- Possession of a Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational) recorded on the National Learner Record Database (NQF Level 4).
- Certifications:
- Registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA).
- Hold a minimum of a Grade C security certificate.
- Legal Compliance:
- Must not be declared unfit to possess a firearm.
- Advantageous Qualifications:
- A Diploma/Degree in security-related fields.
- Relevant courses in the security field.
- A valid driver’s license for at least a light motor vehicle.
- Other Requirements:
- Willingness to work shifts and extended hours.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will perform the following duties:
- Access Control: Manage access to premises and vehicles, ensuring compliance with the Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act (Act No. 53 of 1985).
- Visitor Management: Identify visitors, issue control cards, and maintain registers.
- Security Monitoring: Inspect vehicles, equipment, and personnel to ensure premises’ safety.
- Supervision: Oversee cleaners and maintenance personnel from a security perspective.
- Equipment Checks: Inspect and maintain security equipment, reporting any deficiencies to senior personnel.
- Shift Work: Be prepared to work irregular hours, including shifts.
